Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport in Nagpur is located at a distance of 156.1 km from Amravati via National Highway 6. Buses and cabs for the city are easily available from the airport, and the journey takes about two and a half hours.

The nearest airport to Amravati is Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport of Nagpur which is around 136kms away. Connecting flights from all the major cities of India, touch down this airport. From here, local taxis and private rented vehicles are available. Around 15kms from the central Amravati town near Belora, there is the Amravati Airport, which has not yet been made functional. Once this airport becomes functional, this district will become more accessible from other parts of India.

RAILWAYS


The Amravati Railway Station is linked to Badnera Railway Station that lies on the Mumbai-Kolkata line and is served by several trains throughout the day. Badnera is a major railway junction, and the trains halt here for a significant amount of time.

Amravati is on the Badnera Nagpur line, and is connected to all the major stations of the state and the country. The closest station is the Amravati station, which is around 100 km from Chikhaldara, and 763 km from Mumbai. The Mumbai-Kolkata broad gauge line passes through Amravati. Daily passenger trains runs from Amravati to Mumbai, Nagpur, Surat, Bhusawa, Tirupati, Jabalpur and Pune.

The district is well connected by roads with all the major cities like, Nagpur (190kms), Bhopal (320 Kms), Indore (356 Kms), Pune (577 Kms) and Mumbai (672 Kms). Public and private bus service is pretty decent between these cities. Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) has some good Volvo bus services, both AC and non-AC for tourists and well as business travellers. National Highway 6(NH6) passes through the district, connecting major cities like Kolkata and Hazira. Travel agents provide AC Volvo bus service between Amravati and Mumbai. The journey takes around 15 hours and costs roughly Rs 1000.00-1400.00 per person. Journey between Pune and Amravati is also in high demand, with a cost of about Rs 700/- per person for non AC bus and Rs 1400/- for AC sleeper buses.
