Buldhana district is located in the Amravati division of Maharashtra, India . The name of the district is probably derived from Bhil Thana (place of Bhils, a tribal group). It is situated at the western border of Vidarbha region and is 500 km away from the state capital, Mumbai. The district has towns and cities like Shegaon, Jalgaon Jamod, Malkapur, Khamgaon, Lonar, Mehkar, and Chikhli. ... It is surrounded by Madhya Pradesh in the north, Akola, Washim, and Amravati districts on the east, Jalna district on the south, and Jalgaon and Aurangabad districts on the west. Latitudes are 19.51° to 21.17° N and longitudes are 75.57° to 76.59° E. Bounded on the north by Madhya Pradesh state, to the east by Akola and Washim, to the south by Parbhani and Jalna districts, and to the west by Jalna and Jalgaon districts.

Anand Sagar, Shegaon

Shegaon and surrounding area has shortage of water and hence Shri Gajanan Maharaj Sansthan, Shegaon felt the need of a lake with ample of water in Shegaon which would help to solve the scarcity of water. With this aim Shree Sansthan created the artificial lake in Shegaon by lifting water from Man River (9 Km away from Shegaon) into the lake of Anand Sagar. But the mothly expenditure Rs. 50 Lakh for this purpose caused financial burden on Sansthan. Even then, the Sansthan carried out the project of Anand Sagar Lake, in order to increase the water table in surrouding areas of Shegaon. Not only this, the Shree Sansthan decided to develop this lake and its surrounding area with unique combination of spirituality and Amusement park for devotees with nominal donation. And the revenue from it would help to deal with water problem. With this noble vision and objective Shree Sansthan’s most innovative project- Anand Sagar came into exbtance with Shree’s blessings.

The grand entrance gate of Anand Sagar built in pink Rajasthan’s Stone with great aesthtic sense and beautiful carvings, hint at the stunning treasure inside. Adding to this, the spectrum of floral beauty and its colours add much more pleasure with the nature’s perfume. Through this entrance, the visitor gets enthralled with amazing creation at every step.

Lonar Crater Lake

Lonar lake is a lake of lagoon in Buldhana district of Maharashtra state. It was created due to a meteorite. It is the only major hoverback in the basalt rock. Its water is alkaline. Lonar Lake has been declared as Wildlife Sanctuary for the conservation and conservation of Lonar lake. There are temples around 1250 years ago. Of these, 15 temples are in reversal. The formation of the lake is believed to have been 52,000 ± 6,000 years ago. But in a research paper published in 2010, the age of the lake is estimated at 570,000 ± 47,000 years.Organizations such as the Smithsonian Institution, United States Geographic Survey in America and the Geological Society of India, Physical Research Laboratory of India have done a lot of research on this lake.

The Smithsonian Institution, the United States Geological Survey, Geological Survey of India, the University of Sagar and the Physical Research Laboratory have conducted extensive studies of the site. Biological nitrogen fixation was discovered in this lake in 2007

The Dnyanganga Wildlife Sanctuary is situated 28 km from Buldhana and 20 km from Khamgaon town of Maharashtra. It is in Buldhana District, near the Dnyanganga River. There are two lakes within the 205 sq km sanctuary. Leopards, sloth bears, barking deer, blue bulls, spotted deer, hyenas, jungle cats and along with jackals give more attraction. About 150 species of birds are there. The ideal time to visit the sanctuary is throught the year. Wild animals are best sighted from February to May. The terrain is undulating, interspersed with hillocks having gentle slopes. Managed by the Office of Field Director- Melghat Tiger Reserve, Maharashtra Forest Department, The Sanctuary is a natural habitat for various animals and bird species of which many were seasonal that came from different parts of the country. Botha gate of Dnyanganga Wildlife Sanctuary is reachable by road from Khamgaon on the Khamgaon- Buldhana road. Shegaon is the nearest railway station, on Nagpur-Mumbai main line.






Rajmata Jijau Birthplace, Sindkhed Raja

Jijamata, (Rajmata Jijau) was born on 12 January in 1598, at Sindhkhedra in Buldhana district. Rajmata Jijau was the Matoshree of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the founder of the Hinduvi empire.Today this place is not only a historical place but also a tourist destination. Jijau Maa Saheb was born on 12 January 1598 in the Bhuikot palace. The Rajwada, which has an impressive grand entrance, is situated near the Mumbai-Nagpur highway in Sindhkhed Raja. There is also a garden built in the same area of ​​municipality. Here is the place of worship of Lakhujirao Jadhav. This magnificent thing is bigger than the whole Hindu Rashtra Samadhi of India.
