The district occupies an area of 5955 km² and has a population of 16,48,295 of which 15.45% were urban (as of 2001)Nandurbar district is bounded to the south and south-east by Dhule district, to the west and north is the state of Gujarat, to the north and north-east is the state of Madhya Pradesh. The northern boundary of the district is defined by the great Narmada river.

Dandpaneshwar Ganesh Temple

Dandpaneshwar Ganesh Temple is one of the religious place in Nandurbar District.It is a famous pleasent picnic point. It is one of the most popular temple where thousands of devotees visit this through out of the year. Dandpaneshwar is an ancient Lord Ganesha temple situated in outskirts of Nandurbar.

Lot of people have faith in this temple and many people visit on Tuesdays and in Ganesh chaturthi. Temple was very small before some devotee has done renovations and given very beautiful look. There is also shivling near Ganesha's murti. View photos have attached. They have developed small garden where they run toy train. At very minimal price kids can enjoy train ride. Moreover trust is planning to develop dancing fountain for visitors.





Tornadevi Temple

The Torna Devi Temple is more than six hundred years old. The deity that is enshrined in the temple is that of Goddess Torna Devi. The idol of the Goddess has been made in black stone. The shrine is located in the Tornamal hill station.

Yashavant Lake is a beautiful natural lake spreading over an area of 1.59 sq km. The lake derives its name from Yashwant Rao Chavan, the former Chief Minister of Maharashtra.


To the southern part of Toranmal is the Yashwant Lake. It is also known as Kamal Talao which is covered with lotus flowers. The water from the steam flows into the Sita Khai in the forests. Tourists can get to see this beautiful lake filled with lotuses and the chilling water that flows into the Sita Khai.


It's a picturesque lake near toranmal hill stations. Went there in evening, the setting sun made the visit memorable. Also there were some lotus flower there
